Our Finances

Stormie Omartian's prayer on Finance is particularly good, so I am using that here:


Lord, I commit our finances to You. Be in charge of them and use them for Your purposes.
May my husband and I be good stewards of all that You give us and walk in total agreement as to how it should be disbursed. I pray that we will learn to live free of burdensome debt.
Where we have not been wise, bring restoration and give us guidance. Show us how we can increase our finances and not decrease them unwisely. Help us to remember that all we have belongs to You and to be grateful for it.

Strength in Fear

Our Father, I pray that any fears that my husband has for this weeks tasks, he will look unto you and find power,  love and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).
Psalm 34:7 For the angel of the Lord is a guard; he surrounds and defends all who fear him.

Free from Negativity

Father God, help my husband to have a clear mind from negativity, let everything be given in prayer. Let him look to you when things are not as he thinks or hopes they should be, and give praise to your name when things are good.
Romans 8:6 For the mind of the flesh [is] death, and the mind of the Spirit -- life and peace.

Strength and Wisdom

Father Lord, thank you that I can bring my prayers to you and that you delight to hear them. I lift my husband to you as he deep in his studies with deadlines looming. Give him wisdom and strength to get done what needs to be done and so that it is pleasing to you.

Faith

Father God, I praise you Lord that my husband seeks your face with his studies & training.
I pray that his faith would grow so immensely so as to move the things that are holding him back from fulfilling your will.

How he sees himself

Loving Father, I ask that my husband would look to you in all areas concerning his identity and self-image. I thank you that we are all made in your image and so are beautiful, I also pray that he would know even more deeply how handsome he is in my eyes.
My husband can be a perfectionist and can feel the pressure of striving for the best, Lord I ask that he would look to you for strength and wisdom, and that he would seek to please you in everything.

The way we talk

Father Lord, I thank you that my prayer for my husband to speak with care, love & in a Godly, is a prayer of thanks for he is guarded with his words. Lord I thank you too that he knows how he could be even more pleasing to you and so seeks your guidance.

Our Marriage

Heavenly Father, I pray for your protection on mine and my husband's marriage. Help us to make time for each other and to not take each other for granted. Protect us from anything that would be negatively distracting from each other and encourage us always to talk about our concerns or worries.

His focus

Father God, Thank you for the loving partner you've given me in my husband, and thank you that I can see how my praying for him every day has brought us closer. You really are amazing!
Lord, I thank you for all the prayers that I can say to you through the precious blood of your son Jesus Christ. I ask Lord that you would be my husbands lens and focus through which he sees the world and through which he makes his decisions.

Fasting

I will be Fasting from blogging for the following week. This is something that I am doing with my House Group, from having studied Richard Foster's 'Celebrating Discipline'. I felt it was necessary for me to fast from blogging as I have sometimes allowed it to be consuming. I won't be reading other blogs or managing my own.
I'll let you know how it has gone next week.

Free from the Past

Lord, I thank you that my husband is free from the past through your son Jesus Christ. Father, I pray that my husband is able to discern whether you are prompting him to recall a memory or whether he is hanging on to past burdens. I pray that if there are any negative memories of things past and which have already been brought to you, that he is able to leave them at the foot of your cross.

His friendships

Heavenly Father, please guide my husband to nurture his male friendships. I pray that he is able to discern which friendships are a good influence.
Please help Lord where there are tensions and where forgiveness is needed.

Our Priorities

Lord, help us to keep you first and foremost in our thoughts and actions. Help us Lord to balance work, faqmily, friends and activities, without substituting our quiet times with you.

To be well respected

Father Lord, I ask for your protection on my husband's reputation. I pray that respect for him is well earned & that no one should hold false witness against him.

A Man of Integrity

Lord, please help my husband to be strong in his integrity for all aspects of his life. I pray that he will always seek your wisdom and not be changing like the waves.
